Reflection 2 on process writing

When the task is to describe a process using the passive voice/mood, we must use the present passive. This is formed by using is or are with the past participle, e.g. Orange juice is stored in a fridge. The oranges are transported in trucks to the factory. If we fail to use the passive when we are specifically asked to do so, we are dropped a quarter band, which can mean the difference between passing & failing.

How to change a tyre

Getting a flat tyre is inconvenient, whether it happens in town or in a remote location. It’s important to know how to change a tyre, especially if there is no garage nearby to help out.

This is what must be done. First, the wheel nuts are loosened. This should be done before the car is jacked up, using the jack. Next, Then the nuts are removed. After that the wheel is removed and the spare tyre is put on. Then the nuts are tightened and the car is lowered. The nuts are tightened one last time for safety. Finally the tools are tidied away. You are now ready to drive on.

A Journey from Brunei to Sarawak

Thirty years ago, Hedley, with his wife Mary and daughter Katie, visited the Niah Caves in Sarawak, East Malaysia. They travelled by car, ferry, and boat.

They set off from Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of Brunei and drove to the border with Sarawak. They crossed two large rivers by ferry, stopped in Miri for lunch and then continued to Niah, a small river township. Then they hired a small boat and sailed upriver to a government rest house, where they spent the night. They ate with the small group of scientists who lived in the rest house and shared the cold drinks they had brought with them in a cool box. It was a remote spot, deep in the jungle. They slept in bunk beds with no air-conditioning. It was a novel experience. The next morning, they walked along a jungle path for half an hour until they reached the Niah caves. Inside the caves, which were very high, they saw men who climbed up tall bamboo poles. The men wore lights on their hats because it was so dark. At the top of the poles they scraped off birds’ nests from the roof of the caves. The nests were collected by their mates on the cave floor and packed into sacks. These nests were later sold and made into bird’s nest soup, a Chinese delicacy.

That afternoon, they said goodbye to their new-found friends in the rest house and set off on the long drive home. It was quite an adventure and one they would never forget.

Reflection

I am going to describe how to learn English. In this time, English is the most important language to communicate with people.

First English language is easy however the people should practice. Secondly, reading is one way to increase your level of English. If you don’t understand you can ask anybody to help you to learn. Then, writing is important to carry out the language. Next give some time at home to do something to improve the language. After that talk with you family in English as well. Finally, don’t be angry with anybodywho doesn't know English.

In my opinion, the teachers are helping me to learn good English so I should respect them and listen to what they tell me because they want me to learn English

Horse Racing and Camel Racing

In this essay, I am going to compare horse racing and camel racing.

First, let us look at the track and race. The horse racing track is grass but the camel racing track is sand. In addition, both race types are flat but the horse race also has a steeplechase which is an obstacle jump race. Another difference is that the rider wear a uniform and color of the owner in a horse race, however the camel rider is a robot. A further difference is that the camel can run long distances 15-20km more than the horse which runs only 2-3km. The reason for this is a camel is about 10-15km while the horse is about 1-3km long. Of course the horse is faster than the camel because of its fitness and small size.

Now let us look at popularity and money horse racing is popular all are the world, but camel racing is popular only in the Gulf. Another difference is that in a horse race the prize is millions, on the other hand cars and about 200thousand DHS is the camel race prize.

In my opinion, the camel is easier than the horse race and it isn’t as dangerous for riding.

PETCO and OILCO

In this essay, I am going to compare and contrast two companies Petco and Oilco with regard to salary and benefits.

The most important consideration is money. The Oilco salary is 23,000dh a little more than Petco’s 21,500dh. furthermore Oilco gives a BMW but Petco gives a Nissan Sunny although with petrol. Both also pay school fees for three children. On the other hand, at Petco you stay in a company flat. However, at Oilco they only give you 5,000dh per month allowance.

Now lets us look at the benefits. Both have 35 days for vacation and good promotion prospects. In addition, at Petco you get your office and a secretary much more than Oilco where you share an office and secretary. They are similar in that they both offer service training, but you work six days per week at Oilco but only five days at Petco.

In conclusion, I think Petco is better than Oilco because at Oilco you work offshore.

Butter

How to make butter

I am going to describe how to make butter in a simple way.
First, check the fresh milk to ensure quality and fat content and put it in a fridge to be cool. Secondly, separate the cream from the top of the milk. Then churn the cream and don’t forget to drain the buttermilk from the butter and put it in a jar. After that, wash it with cold water to remove remaining buttermilk and add a small amount of salt for flavor. Finally cut and wrap the butter and store in a fridge.
Put the butter in a coffee to become delicious
